Conceptualization

Our working methods have also resembled research, in that we have documented all our activities in the form of text and where appropriate even with photographs and film. We have conducted four long interviews with involved actors to get their views on the activities undertaken; these interviews have been audio-taped. This empirical material has then been used as the basis for joint analyses we have carried out in discussion meetings. These meetings have also been based on texts written by other academics and other professionals.

Together we have discussed our four main questions as well as different concepts related to our focus. We have seen it as particularly valuable to discuss the significance and meaning of these concepts for capacity-building processes in which residents participate. The conceptualization of our knowledge has been highly rewarding and what has become clear is how different meanings can be attached to the same word.
